Effective Music Teachers and Effective Music Teaching Today: A Systematic Review

(1) Background: This systematic review focuses on identifying the main features of effective music teachers and teaching recently examined in educational psychological literature. It aims to identify how recent studies have discussed promotion effectiveness context both preservice in-service teachers. (2) Methods: A search scientific databases for research (Eric, Science Direct, WWS, Web Science, JSTOR) was conducted using keywords associated with topics field instruction. In end, thirty-six papers were identified analyzed. (3) Results: The themes related various dimensions teachers: teachers’ personal characteristics (self-esteem, resilience, etc.) personality traits; professional skills; cognitive aspects identity (self-efficacy, motivation, beliefs regarding learning music, etc.); training experiences (pre- in-service); social competence interpersonal relationship between teacher students. (4) Conclusions: These seem interrelated contribute simultaneously define music. Specific attention should be paid impact contexts activities, leading a contextualized definition
